Some Explanations For Non-Armenians;
If you are reading the lyrics and feeling like there’s something that remains unclear to you then you definitely should read this part of the article.
First of all, you should know that in 2020 the Second Artsakh War happened between Armenia and Azerbaijan which the Armenian side lost. It was a great failure for the nation although there were a lot of hidden factors that did not let Armenians win. Well, we won’t talk about it now, but that was an important detail to mention as it brought a huge disappointment to the Armenian nation. Losing the war became terrible mourning for the whole nation, not only for the locals but also for the Armenians from the diaspora. The reason for the mourning was also thousands of Armenian young casualties.
The tragedy is still like a nightmare for Armenians, it’s way too difficult to move on after everything you’ve seen. Since the war happened life has been stopped for Armenians, feels like we are dead but keep walking as alive people. Mentally we don’t exist anymore. But Khoren says that mourning will be eternal if we don’t struggle.
He chose to go ahead, to struggle.
As it’s common for people after such loss, Armenians as well started to complain even more after the war. Khoren says that he also knows how to cry, to complain, but he meant that he’s not doing it. Definitely, he doesn’t consider such behaviour right by people to do it. Also, it’s really common and usual for people from all countries to emigrate after losing a war, a part of them will always leave the country, which is pretty sad. Well, Khoren is a real patriot as he says that even though he knows from where to buy a plane ticket to another country, how to escape from the situation, he’s not gonna do it as he wants to die at his home. In the lyrics, the word home is considered motherland; Armenia.
He also speaks about people that ran away from the war as cowards, that left the country, or that left it after the war. Such people or actually people that emigrated, always speak about their love for Armenia, about how much they miss it, about their sadness, mourning. Khoren considers such behaviour fake as if they had a love for Armenia they would not leave the place they loved “that much”. They would not empty the home that needs them.
